Psychologist in Springbank, AB

Springbank doesn’t look like a place with unmet needs. Acreages instead of lots, riding arenas instead of backyards, Edge School and CFIS drop-off lines full of families who are, by most measures, doing very well. That surface makes it a strange place to admit that something isn’t working and a hard place to find anyone qualified to help, since Springbank has no clinical mental health services of its own.

Be Well Psychology sees Springbank residents from our downtown Calgary office, about twenty minutes east on Highway 1 or via the West Stoney Trail connection. There’s no waitlist, no referral required, and no need to explain yourself to anyone you’ll run into at the barn. We work with adults, couples, families, teenagers, and children.

Our Therapy Services for Springbank Residents

Individual Therapy

A demanding career, a business run from the property, a life that reads as enviable from the outside none of that rules out anxiety, depression, or the kind of low-grade exhaustion that doesn’t show up until it’s been building for years. We work with Springbank adults on burnout, anxiety, unprocessed grief, and the identity questions that surface after a business sale, a career pivot, or the kids leaving for boarding school or university. Sessions draw on CBT, ACT, and EMDR, chosen to match what’s actually going on rather than a generic protocol. What’s said in the room stays entirely separate from the community you live in.

Couples Therapy

Managing a property, a business, and a family calendar leaves little room for the relationship underneath all of it. Springbank couples often describe a partnership that runs efficiently and has quietly stopped being a partnership decisions made in passing, intimacy deferred indefinitely, resentment that never gets a proper airing because there’s always another logistical fire. Using Gottman Method and attachment-based approaches, we help partners address what the day-to-day has been skipping: money and legacy planning disagreements, unequal division of the household and property, and the drift that sets in after years of managing rather than connecting.

Therapy for Families

Springbank households often carry more than the immediate family multi-generational land, a business that involves more than one generation, expectations about who takes over what. That can be a strength and it can be a source of quiet, ongoing conflict. We help families work through succession tension, blended-family dynamics after a remarriage, grief, and the strain of caring for aging parents while also raising kids on the same property. Sessions happen in Calgary, away from anyone who knows the family name.

Therapy for Teens

Teens at Edge School or CFIS carry real academic and athletic expectations, often self-imposed as much as inherited, inside a social world small enough that very little goes unnoticed. Add long bus rides or a lengthy family commute and there’s not much time or privacy left to process anything. We work with Springbank teens on performance anxiety, disordered eating, low mood, self-harm, substance use, and identity in a room with no one from school or the barn in it. Late-afternoon and weekend appointments are available so sessions don’t compete with training schedules.

Therapy for Children

Acreage life gives kids space, animals, and room to roam and sometimes real distance from other children their age, especially before school starts. When a young child is struggling, Springbank parents are often the first to notice something’s off, long before a diagnosis or a referral catches up. Our child therapists use play-based therapy and Triple P Positive Parenting to work with how children actually communicate. We help with anxiety, big emotions, behavioural concerns, ADHD, autism, and adjustment after a move or family change, and you leave each session with something to use that evening, not just a clinical impression.
